PERCHE' QUESTO PRODOTTO E' UN “PEZZO DA MUSEO”:
Perché la resina “cocoon” spruzzato sulla struttura è storico, importato negli anni '50 dagli Stati Uniti e fu applicato dai fratelli Castiglioni come materiale per realizzare il diffusore. E' un omaggio di Marcel Wanders ai fratelli Castiglioni.
MAIN CONCEPT O COMMENTO DEL DESIGNER CHE ESPRIMA LA CARATTERISTICA INNOVATIVA DEL PRODOTTO:
Ho sempre tratto grande ispirazione dall'uomo che ha dato un'identità a ciò che noi chiamiamo l'impalpabile luminosità. E tuttora, di tanto in tanto, mi dà un colpetto sulla spalla e quando mi volto..... e mi fermo un attimo a pensare.....sorrido.... prendo un foglio bianco e riprovo a riempire l'ombra della sua luce. Oggi (dopo 40 anni) ho realizzato la mia “cocoon”. - Marcel Wanders -
SINTETICHE CARATTERISTICHE TECNICHE DEL PRODOTTO:
Lampada a sospensione a luce diffusa. Struttura interna in acciaio verniciato a polvere bianco. Diffusore “cocoon” spruzzata sulla struttura, con protezione trasparente, realizzata a spruzzo alla fine della lavorazione.
THAT'S WHY THIS PRODUCT IS A "MUSEUM PIECE":
Because the sprayed “cocoon” resin over the structure is historical. It was imported from the United States and was used by Castiglioni brothers as the material to realise the diffuser. It's a tribute paid to Castiglioni brothers by Marcel Wanders.
MAIN CONCEPT OR THE DESIGNER'S REMARK SHOWING THE INNOVATIVE FEATURE OF THE PRODUCT:
I've always found my main inspiration thinking to the man that gave the identity to what we called intangible brightness. And still now, from time to time, I feel like being touched by him on my shoulders and when I turn back…and I stop to think…I smile…I take a white piece of paper and I try to fill up his light's shadow. Today (after 40 years) I've realised my “cocoon”. - Marcel Wanders -
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS BRIEFLY:
Suspension lamp providing diffused light. White powder coated internal steel structure sprayed with a inique “cocoon” resin to create the diffuser which is then protected by a trasparent sprayed on finish.
