La prima serie, nata dalla matita di Giancarlo Piretti, era adatta alle esigenze dell'epoca, soprattutto era semplice e
comoda e fu esposta in moltissime gallerie del Design.
Ma l'obiettivo di ogni grande azienda è l'aggiornamento continuo del prodotto per renderlo sempre più consono a nuove tendenze e anticipare così le richieste di mercato. Per questo nasce DSC AXIS 9000. Una seduta che rimarrà nel tempo come testimonianza della capacità del Design di innovare i prodotti e sé stesso.

SINTETICHE CARATTERISTICHE TECNICHE DEL PRODOTTO:
DSC Axis 9000 è una grande famiglia di sedute destinate all'arredo di spazi per la collettività (da auditorium, teatri, arredi navali alle aule scolastiche) in cui il flusso degli utilizzatori ha numeri alti ma mutevoli. Già la prima serie, nata dalla matita di Giancarlo Piretti, era adatta alle esigenze dell'epoca, soprattutto era semplice e comoda. Ma l'obiettivo di ogni azienda che si rispetti è l'aggiornamento continuo del prodotto per renderlo sempre più consono a nuove tendenze e
anticipare così le richieste di mercato. La revisione di Axis, a cura di centro R&D Haworth, si muove principalmente su tre direttrici: diversa modalità d'uso dei materiali (legno naturale, alluminio), la cui applicazione si estende dal sedile allo schienale, armonizzazione della seduta in ogni tipo di spazio architettonico, cablaggio personalizzato e invisibile per ogni singola postazione. Un'altra prerogativa del prodotto attuale è la gamma degli accessori (bracciolo, tavoletta
scrittura antipanico, piano scrittura per pc portatili e note book, posto banco con pannello privacy, cestello portaoggetti) che rende praticamente “su misura” le varie possibilità di configurazione della seduta sia nella versione lineare che curva. Dal punto di vista ergonomico, la nuova Axis è più confortevole per via del particolare “punto di attacco” dello schienale alla struttura portante che consente di sfruttare la naturale elasticità dei materiali utilizzati per un flessibile accompagnamento della postura. Così la conformazione del sedile che non permette scivolamenti in avanti e il meccanismo di ribaltamento dello stesso, protetto e celato, diventano motivi di comfort anche per periodi prolungati.

trends and stay one step ahead of the demands of the market. This I the reason why Haworth decide to revised the DSC AXIS. A family of seating that will goes throw the time; an evidence of the capability of the Design to renew the products and himself too.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS BRIEFLY:
DSC Axis 9000 is a large family of seating for collective spaces (auditoriums, theaters, ships,
classrooms) with many different users and situations. The first series,
designed by Giancarlo Piretti, was suited to the needs of its time, and above all it was simple and
comfortable. But the aim of every good company is to continuously update products to make them adapt to new trends and stay one step ahead of the demands of the market. The revised version of Axis, designed by R&D center Haworth, moves along three main lines: different usage modes of materials (natural wood and
aluminium), whose application ranges from seat to back; harmonizing of the seating in any type of architectural
space; personalized, invisible wiring for each individual seat. Another new feature is the selection of accessories (armrest, anti-panic writing surface, support for portable computers, privacy panels, object caddies) that practically “customize” the various configuration possibilities, in the linear and curved arrays. In terms of ergonomics the new Axis is more comfortable due to the particular “attachment point” between the back and the structure, taking advantage of the natural elasticity of the materials for flexible response to the weight of the user. The form of the seat keeps the user from sliding forward, and the concealed folding mechanism also contributes to improved comfort even for long periods. Respect for the environment and a focus on renewable resources are essential in the productive philosophy of the Haworth Group; these values are reflected in Axis by the use of non-toxic paints for the metal parts, and the recyclable components of the seat, designed for easy disassembly. In technical-design terms DSC Axis 9000 offers users the exceptional possibility of immediate, individual and, above all, invisible access to data and electrical networks, as well as all the possible connections required in a modern facility for public events. The wiring of each position involves cabling inserted in the seat structure. The multiple sockets can be positioned (another strong point) below or directly on top of the work surface. The use of materials is also innovative, extending their application from the seat to the back, in three different versions: beech plywood, also with colored finish; graphite gray high-resistance scratch proof painted aluminium with unique, exception a l performance in terms of durability and fire resistance); total or partial fabric covering.
