Molteni&C<\/strong><\/a> has assigned to Patricia Urquiola<\/strong><\/a>, architect and designer of international fame, the design of the new flagship store<\/strong> of Tokyo<\/strong>, situated in the renowned Minami Aoyama district<\/strong>. The space of about 300 square meters, realized in collaboration with Artflex Japan<\/em>, will be divided on two levels and will house the latest Molteni&C collections by famous architects and designers as Patricia Urquiola, Ron Gilad<\/strong>, Rodolfo Dordoni<\/strong>, Matteo Nunziati<\/strong> and Dante Bonuccelli<\/strong>.
\n\"molteni2\"<\/a>Among the 2014 novelties for the living area are the Pass-word<\/em> system, the seatings Reversi \u201914<\/em>, Breeze<\/em> and D.2702<\/em>, and the set of Chelsea<\/em> armchairs; for the night area, the Sweet-dreams<\/em> bed, the Gliss-Up<\/em> wardrobe and the new Wing door<\/em>.
\nPatricia Urquiola, always interested in local cultural background<\/strong> as lymph for her projects, rediscovered in views of the Komyo-in temple of Kyoto new perspective filters able to guarantee, through modern re-elaborations, contemporary effects that concern the relation between interior and exterior. Thus was born a graphic wall seven meters high<\/strong>, made of local cedar, as a filter between interior space and the rising sun. \"molteni3\"<\/a>The relationship that ties Molteni&C to the figure of architect Gi\u00f2 Ponti<\/strong> is a further cue sparking interest in the rediscovery of geometries<\/strong>: Patricia Urquiola grasps and reinterprets Ponti\u2019s graphic detail, contextualizing it in the Japanese interior project for Molteni&C, creating full-height screens<\/strong> in stopsol glass, able to separate rooms in a light manner, at the same time guaranteeing unexpected perspective effects.
\nThe opening of the flagship store in Tokyo is scheduled for March 11th 2015.<\/p>
