Michael Faraday School – Buro Happold

La scuola è stata progettata in modo che ogni classe abbia affaccio verso l'esterno per favorire l'apprendimento all'aperto. Le aule superiori affacciano su un balcone continuo che fa da copertura agli spazi aperti sottostanti. L'atrio principale è utilizzato anche come mensa e per tutte le attività comuni. Il complesso è alimentato da pompe di calore geotermiche.

The school was designed so that every classroom has the use of an outdoor learning environment. A continuous external balcony provides external teaching spaces to the upper classrooms and provides cover to the outdoor spaces below. The main hall is also devoted to school's diving and to all community uses. The building's energy need is supplied with ground source heat pumps.
