Tate Modern Extension – Herzog & de Meuron Architects

L'edificio sorgerà su tre turbine, resti della vecchia centrale elettrica preesistente. Il rivestimento in facciata ricopre lo scheletro di calcestruzzo ed è composto da una griglia di mattoni attraverso cui la luce filtra nell'edificio durante il giorno, mentre, durante la notte, viene proiettata esternamente.

The building will rise on three turbines, foundations of the former pre-existing power station. The facade cladding will wraps up the concrete structure and will be composed by a brick lattice frame through which the daylight fi lters into the building, while the building will "glow" through the lattice in the evening.
