This beach house on Prumirim Beach is signed by the brazilian office Bruno Rossi Arquitetos and it is located on the north coast of São Paulo state (Brazil) and is drawn into the dense Atlantic forest, a few meters from the sea. Due to the abundant afforestation, its implantation faces great limitations regarding the area of vegetation suppression, which represented a strong constraint on the occupation of the land.
The main premise of the architecture guarantees the enhancement of living spaces, from patios that promote the integration of environments and benefit from large openings, bringing the green of the forest into the interior of the house, like a hut open to vegetation.

The program was designed not only as a vacation home for a couple with three adult children, but also as a possible main house in the near future, enabling them to enjoy the natural landscape. The ground floor - with 100 m² - guarantees the accommodation of the essential functions of the house, in addition to the main bedroom. Dining, living and kitchen are integrated in a single patio, with double height, increasing the entrance of light, ventilation and visibility to the forest, like a large balcony open to the sea breeze. The three bedrooms for the children and shared bathrooms are located on the upper level, due to the legal need for a compact construction. We've opted for the conventional structure of concrete and solid bricks in the most compartmentalized wing of the house (bedrooms, kitchen and wet areas), guaranteeing the expertise of the local workforce and the thermal load of the material.

The thermal quality of the rooms is given by solid brick, thermo-acoustic tiles and by guaranteed ventilation in the design of the frames and shutters. The facades are made of glass, with screen protectors acting as a windshield and wooden shutters, also developed with the material and local labor. As a result, the project by Bruno Rossi Arquitetos explores the possibilities of different constructive and structural systems, expressing the very nature of the materials, in accordance with their surroundings, in addition to promoting effective communication between the home environments and the preexisting forest.
