PERCHÉ QUESTO PRODOTTO È UN “PEZZO DA MUSEO”:
Primo progetto sviluppato per Kinetics, azienda canadese specializzata nell'arredo, è particolarmente innovativo per l'epoca perché rappresenta il primo esempio di scrivania realizzata con trave portante cablata, ideata per risolvere i problemi di organizzazione delle
postazioni da ufficio in termini tecnici e visivi.
MAIN CONCEPT O COMMENTO DEL DESIGNER CHE ESPRIMA LA CARATTERISTICA INNOVATIVA DEL PRODOTTO:
Come una spina dorsale, la trave in estruso di alluminio è ripartita in due canali per alloggiare separatamente i cavi per computer,
corrente elettrica e telefono.
SINTETICHE CARATTERISTICHE TECNICHE DEL PRODOTTO:
Le gambe, che riprendono la configurazione di uno stabile cavalletto, sono in tubo di grande diametro e grosso spessore - un semilavorato che caratterizza la produzione dell'azienda, assieme all'ampia gamma cromatica di verniciature. Alle estremità inferiori sono inseriti per pressione puntali in nylon dotati di una piccola rotella zigrinata fissata eccentricamente, le cui rotazione e bloccaggio permettono di regolare e assicurare l'orizzontalità della scrivania. Come supporto intermedio della trave, o come variante in testa, sono previste anche gambe a T, mentre differenti accessori completano il programma: schermi e pareti di divisione e isolamento, cestelli, ripiani, cassettiere. Altro dettaglio interessante è il profilo di gomma montato lungo le estremità rivolte verso gli utilizzatori che assicura l'ergonomia d'uso del piano.
THAT'S WHY THIS PRODUCT IS A "MUSEUM PIECE":
The first project developed for Kinetics, a Canadian company specialized in furniture, was particularly innovative for the period because it was the first example of a desk made with an electrified structural beam, conceived to solve the problem of organizing officework stations both technically and visually.
MAIN CONCEPT OR THE DESIGNER'S REMARK SHOWING THE INNOVATIVE FEATURE OF THE PRODUCT:
Like a spinal column, the extruded aluminum beam is separated into two channels to house the wiring for computers, electricity and telephones separately.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS BRIEFLY:
The legs, which replicate the configuration of a sawhorse, are made out of large thick tubes - a semi-processed material that is characteristic of the company's production, as is the wide range of paint colors; pressed into the lower extremities are nylon caps featuring a small grooved
wheel fastened at an angle, which may be turned and blocked to adjust and ensure the horizontality of the desk. As an intermediate support for the beam, or as an option for the ends, there is also a T-shaped leg, and the program is completed by a variety of accessories: screens and partitions to separate and isolate, containers, shelves, drawers. Another interesting detail is the rubber border running along the edge facing the user, which ensures an ergonomic use of the desktop.
